What We Can Do For You

Want assistance in starting a new business or to expand your existing business?

We support new business start ups, business expansion, and overall community development in the seven far western counties of North Carolina and on the Qualla Boundary.

Loans
If you are expanding your business or starting a new business, we can work with you to determine the best method of financing your project.

We assist individuals who are good candidates to open businesses and pay back loans, but are not having their needs met from traditional bank loan products.

We can also partner with banks to structure larger loan packages.

Training & Technical Assistance
Whether you are a seasoned business owner who needs some coaching and refresher business workshops, or a budding entrepreneur who needs business basics, we have the classes that will help you develop your business skills and move your business forward.

Our newest loan product, the New Economy Fund provides business loans totaling $50,000-$250,000 for green, knowledge-based, or creative economy businesses located in the seven far-western counties of North Carolina and on the Qualla Boundary.

These funds are available to qualified individuals who have resided in the region for at least two years. SCORE of Asheville will collaborate with Sequoyah Fund to provide success coaching to these clients. USDA Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) in conjunction with Southwestern Planning Commission's Economic Development Administration (EDA) will provide the capital for this loan product.
