(Let’s Learn)

Hi-da-de-lo-gwa (“let’s learn”) is a program funded by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation that helps small businesses in Cherokee share culture and language with visitors and guests.

Small businesses enjoy training in basic Cherokee language designed for waitstaff, front desk staff, and other customer-facing positions so they can share the language. Qualla-T Customer Service training is included in the staff training.

Participating businesses are paid through grant funds to close their doors and immerse staff in the training. They also receive funds to change signs, menus, table cards, and other in-store visuals to reflect Cherokee language alongside phonetic pronunciations.

Through this unique program, visitors to Cherokee can take home more than gifts, photos, and memories - they can also carry home Cherokee culture and language.
